Things they are "a changin"...

Celebrating CJ!

It's been a rough week, so we are looking forward to celebrating CJ's huge accomplishment on Friday.

CJ will be graduating from Fresno City College on Friday, May 18th @ 6:30pm at the Selland Arena.

He'll be entering in to a new season of life this summer with all the good & bad that comes with a non student status in adulthood.

This past weekend was a huge reminder of the changes that are coming up soon for our family, but first I have to share a pic from my Friday photo shoot.

This is the Prudente family ~ I loved every minute of watching them interact together.... so much love & sweetness.  I was especially touched by the big brother. He took such good care of his little sister the entire time we were out there. Oh, and how about mom's hair?

Beautiful & fun!

I loved it!

We spent the day celebrating my Uncle Gene's 85th birthday on Saturday.

Gene & Ann have always been Salt & Light in our lives long before we knew Christ as our Savior.

Their house is quite nostalgic for Craig & I.

Craig grew up next door to this family. I came to visit them the summer of 1982 when I was 13 & that's how Craig & I met.

My sweet Uncle Gene (my grandpa's brother) designed & built their house. It has so much character (just like my Uncle Gene). Some of my favorite features are the centered kitchen & the fake front door that actually opens to a garden area/courtyard. I'm standing in the hall looking towards the kitchen when I took this pic.

Since we had already celebrated Mother's Day the previous Sunday, my sister, Debbie & I decided to have a Traeger feast before she moves her family to Texas.

Yes, they are taking Lily to Texas! We know it's a good thing for their family, so we are excited for them. Still, we will miss her/them so very much!

Her facial expressions...

Her fearlessness...

& those precious eyes!

We also got BIG NEWS about the house!

The new projected walk thru date is June 26th...

The new projected closing date is July 6th...

AND they are running ahead of schedule on THOSE dates!

We are officially locked out!

Wouldn't it be cool if they gave us our keys on my birthday?
I think it would be hilarious!
Disclaimer ~ that puke yellow color is not the actual color our house will be. :)

Deciding to be "Present"

I started off last week tired, but I was also determined to be "present" at the events that we had planned with friends and family.

Our "boys" ALL played at Starbucks (Ashlan & West) on Tuesday night. Sometimes being "present" means leaving my camera at home. However, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to take pics of my favorite young men!

I'm so glad that I did!

Aren't you?

Our CJ decided to play acoustic & alone... I love it.

I should mention this guy will be graduating from Fresno City College on Friday , May 17th! We are proud of him for sticking it out...

Riversend will be playing on Great Day on Friday, May 31st! Set your DVR!

We  were able to walk through the new house one last time (I'm assuming) last Friday. I sincerely think that they will put the entry doors on some time this week.

Progress!

It's really starting to feel real ~ we could be calling this "home" in less than 2 months!

The hubby & I had a "heart to heart" about our current couch & love seat. We JUST paid them off, but I have never been tall enough to sit comfortably on them. We decided they are just too big for our little hobbit family & our future living space.

Out with the old "fairly new"...

For Sale ~ New couch/fold out bed & love seat ~ $600

Keeping in the theme of "being present" I did choose to leave my camera at home for the engagement party that we went to on Saturday as well as the early Mother's Day get together we went to on Sunday. I decided to have real conversations and not create extra work for myself (editing pics). It was so good to reconnect with friends & family that we haven't spent time with in a while.

You'll have to take my word for it, because I don't have any pics to show you!
